At Koinonia Educational, we are delighted to welcome our latest Associate Scholar, Shingirirai Hopkins. Undertaking a PhD at the University of Reading, while also teaching and leading sociology education in the secondary schools’ sector, Shinghi’s scholarship brings together teaching, doctoral research and public engagement. This includes work contributing to research-led curriculum initiatives and sharing interdisciplinary perspectives on history, development, identity and belonging. Shighi’s doctoral work examines women, land and belonging in Zimbabwe from the colonial period to the Fast Track Land Reform Programme. She recently contributed to the Horasis Global Meeting 2025, participating in discussions on sustainable development, skills for the future, and poverty.
